The report states that Auxin Solar alleged that the solar panels produced in the above countries were Use parts or have components from China to assemble in ASEAN countries. This contradicts the 2021 tariffs imposed on solar products from China, when Joe Biden's government administration halted imports of solar equipment with parts from Hoshine Silicon Industry Co., including Longi Green Energy. Technology Co. to punish China for human rights violations of Uighur Muslims in Xinjiang
However, U.S. renewable energy experts warned that if Washington were to act on the request of Auxin Solar, it would slow down its energy transition policy and solar installations in the country. This is because these parts are often manufactured in Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia as the US has to import most of the solar panels from these countries.
