Nikkei Asia reports that the 13th International Aeronautics and Space Expo, or "Air China China", was held in the Chinese city of Zhuhai. Between Sept. 28 and Oct. 3, the Chinese commercial aircraft "C919" (C919) was not launched at the event. as expected by the participants
The C919 is a narrow-body commercial aircraft developed by China's major state-owned enterprise "COMAC". with the goal of becoming a leader in the global aircraft manufacturing industry.
Although Comac has a life-size replica of the C919 cabin to showcase at the 13th Airshow China, it can't bring the finished aircraft to its potential. even close to the delivery date
The C 919 took a long time to develop as well. It's been around since 2008, although Comac confirmed the plane was in the final stages of development. But this situation indicates that China's aircraft manufacturing industry may be in trouble.
AVIC Securities According to AVIC Securities, the manufacturer of the C919 requires 39 components from its suppliers. More than 40 percent of the parts needed to manufacture an aircraft are imported from companies in the United States. and other countries especially those related to communications and flight control systems.
While the most important parts of the engine, Comac says the C919 will use an engine developed by CFM International. It is a joint venture between US General Electric and the French Safran Aircraft Engine.
