On May 21, 2022, theSLOTXO Reuters news agency reported, citing disclosures from sources that Representative from the United States And allied nations arriving for the Asia-Pacific Trade Ministers' (APEC) Meeting in Bangkok walked out of the meeting room as Russia's economy ministers gave their opening speech. to protest the Russian army's invasion of Ukraine, causing the deaths of many soldiers and civilians.
The source stated that Trade representatives from Canada, New Zealand, Japan and Australia Walked out of the meeting room with U.S. Trade Representative Catherine Tai. by one trade representative reasoned that to express their disagreement with the unlawful Russian invasion of Ukraine and inevitably affect the economy of APEC.
